Homeowners Or Hobby Farm?

Homeowners Or Hobby Farm?

Homeowner or hobby farm … it can make a BIG difference if you aren’t properly insured.

Just as these cute little goats say… We have the G.O.A.T. Hobby Farm programs & expertise in our office. Our advice is FREE, so what are you waiting for? Give us a call!

Here are some questions you should ask yourself:

1. Does your Hobby Farm generate any revenue?

Did you know that business operations are excluded from a standard homeowner’s policy? If you are selling produce from a roadside stand, bringing products to farmers markets, opening your yard for pumpkin sales, or hosting that GOAT YOGA class, you could be conducting business activities that fall outside the scope of coverage for a homeowner’s product

2. Do you own livestock?

Any animal with hooves requires additional insurance considerations. If those Yogie Goats escape and wreak havoc on your neighbor’s lawn, you could be cleaning up the mess yourself without proper liability coverage

3. Do you own any high value livestock?

Livestock property coverage can protect you in the event an animal is stolen or killed in a storm or auto accident

4. Do you own any farm equipment?

Depending on how much equipment you own and how it is used, you may need additional coverage for these items

5. Do you have farm outbuildings?

Homeowners’ programs extend coverage to additional structures like a detached garage. Many Hobby Farms have several outbuildings that are not used for “personal use”. These buildings could be a risk if not insured properly
